SAME WORK, DIFFERENT TOOLS
The vacation ended. The work didn’t. One went left into amber decades of typewriter ribbon. Another went right into the future of wireless everything. Different eras. Same hunch over the desk. The tools evolved. The exhaustion is inherited. They’ll meet again, these two. But first: more work. There’s always more work. The rotary phone waited for calls. The smartphone demands them. The cassette tape stored what mattered. The tablet stores what doesn't. Papers once flew toward filing cabinets. Now they fly into clouds no one can touch. Somewhere between the typewriter and the tablet, we were promised freedom. What we got was a longer leash.
